 About Me:

Hello, I'm Naila, a qualified, dedicated secondary school teacher of mathematics with over two decades of experience in both the state and independent education sectors. Currently, I focus on teaching one to one lessons both in and out of schools, where I have honed a unique ability to work patiently with students, inspiring them to excel in mathematics and achieve their potential.

One of the most rewarding aspects of my work is seeing my students realise they have the ability to succeed. I have a proven track record of empowering students to reach new heights in their academic journey.  I've helped a plethora of students achieve at least a grade higher than they previously thought possible. From a student who needed to improve from a grade 6 to a 7 for their desired A-levels to another who surpassed their predicted grade 4 to achieve a grade 6, and another who passed her GCSE after never believing she would, I take pride in getting to know my students and guiding them toward their own definitions of success.

Continuing my professional development is a priority.  I have competed my OCN Accredited Level 5 Course with the British Dyslexia Association and am an Accredited Teacher of Dyscalculia and Maths Learning Difficulties which has further enhanced my ability to support students with diverse learning needs.

In my tutoring approach, I prioritise open communication.  By setting and regularly marking homework, I ensure that both students and parents have a clear view of the topics covered and the student's progress. I firmly believe that true learning occurs through consolidation and practise. That's why I provide and assess bespoke practice questions tailored to each lesson, reinforcing understanding and mastery of the material.
